The Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei demonstration project with large hydrogen-powered buses is Yuchai's first commercial application project for fuel cells. In January 2024, the company officially delivered hydrogen fuel cell systems to the vehicle manufacturer, including the 82kW system and the 125kW system, for shuttle buses, tourist transportation, and other passenger services. Since officially commencing operations at the end of April, the buses have cumulatively operated over 1 million kilometers, with an average of 25,000 kilometers per vehicle, consuming 4 kilograms of hydrogen per 100 kilometers.
